Venus Williams Brings Tennis Style Home With New Crate & Barrel Collection

Venus Williams has spent a career making tennis look stylish. Now she’s bringing that aesthetic home. 

The seven-time Grand Slam champion has teamed with Crate & Barrel and Crate & Kids on an expansive new collection of furniture, décor and textiles that takes the visual language of tennis — its geometry, movement, color and tradition — and turns it into modern interior design.

Launched this week, the collaboration spans nearly 200 pieces across the two brands, mixing Italian design influences with subtle and not-so-subtle references to the sport that made Williams famous. There’s the Second Serve chandelier, inspired by the suspended trajectory of a tennis ball during a serve toss, along with playful pieces across the Crate & Kids collection featuring lavender, tennis-ball green and athletic details.

For Williams, the collaboration is less celebrity side project than an extension of a design career that has now stretched more than two decades.

She founded V Starr in 2002, and the South Florida-based multidisciplinary design firm has since built a portfolio spanning hospitality, residential and commercial projects.

“I’m so proud of this collection,” Williams said. “Each piece was intentionally designed to feel artful, timeless, and design-driven, while still working cohesively together.”

The tennis references were deliberate, but Williams wanted them to stop short of turning a home into a clubhouse.

“We had fun including a few nods to tennis, inspired by the geometry and elements of the sport, while keeping the overall aesthetic that feels elevated, effortless, and enduring,” she said. “Ultimately, this collection was made to inspire that feeling of, ‘I could live like this forever.’”

That balance runs throughout the collection, with sculptural furniture, lighting, stone, wood and decorative pieces that nod to tennis without becoming novelty items.

The children’s side allows Williams to have a little more fun. Tennis-ball shapes, bright colors and sporty details run throughout Crate & Kids, creating what Williams called “the bedroom of my dreams.”

“Creating a space that kids can be proud of is so important to me, and bringing an energetic, playful spirit to their rooms was really at the heart of this,” Williams said.

It is a natural intersection for one of tennis’ most style-conscious champions: athlete, entrepreneur and designer, with deep South Florida roots and a résumé that now stretches well beyond the baseline.
