Florida Stars Tommy Paul, Amanda Anisimova Headline 2026 Atlanta Cup

Two of South Florida’s biggest tennis stars are headed to Atlanta for one of the most intriguing exhibitions of the offseason.
Boca Raton resident Tommy Paul and Miami Beach-based Amanda Anisimova will join Taylor Fritz and Atlanta hometown favorite Taylor Townsend at the second annual Atlanta Cup, set for Dec. 4 at Gas South Arena.
For Florida tennis fans, the lineup has plenty of familiar DNA.
Paul has made Boca Raton his home base for years, training in South Florida with a team that lives nearby. Anisimova moved to Miami as a young child, grew up around the Miami Open and now resides in Miami Beach.
Paul will face Fritz in an all-American men’s matchup between longtime friends and Olympic teammates. Their history stretches back to their junior days, when Fritz, Paul and Reilly Opelka lived and trained together at the USTA’s former Boca Raton training base.

Anisimova will take on Townsend in the women’s match. The 25-year-old Floridian reached a career-high world No. 3 in 2026 after establishing herself among the leading American players on the WTA Tour.
Townsend arrives as one of the year’s biggest doubles stories after winning the US Open women’s doubles championship with Katerina Siniakova, completing a career Grand Slam. The Atlanta native’s appearance, however, bears watching after she withdrew from this week’s Guadalajara Open following emergency surgery. As of Thursday, The Atlanta Cup continued to list Townsend in its Dec. 4 lineup.
The event has quickly found an audience in one of America’s deepest recreational tennis markets. More than 7,300 fans attended the inaugural Atlanta Cup last December, which organizers said made it the highest-attended professional tennis event in Atlanta’s more than 50 years of hosting the sport.
“What Taylor Townsend just did in New York is the stuff of legend — a career Grand Slam, won by a player who learned this game on Atlanta courts,” Atlanta Cup founder Jason Dolan said. “With this lineup, we expect a full house.”
The Atlanta Cup begins at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at Gas South Arena. Tickets start at $100, with the general on-sale beginning Friday, Sept. 18 at 10 a.m.
The exhibition is presented by BMW and staged in partnership with USTA Atlanta and the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association.
