Miami Open presented by Itaú — March 26 Update

WTA semifinals will take center stage on today. Thursday at the Miami Open presented by Itaú will see top seed and World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka take on No.6 seed Jasmine Paolini in the first semifinal of the day. The No.1 seed is looking for her first WTA 1000 title of the year following early exits in Qatar and Dubai and a loss to Mirra Andreeva in the final in Indian Wells. Sabalenka leads the head-to-head with the Italian 3-2, the most recent meeting taking place at the 2024 WTA Finals.
Teenage wild card Alexandra Eala will seek to take her surprise run all the way to the final when she meets Jessica Pegula in the night-session semifinal. The 19-year-old from the Philippines, playing in her first WTA Tour semifinal, will face the American who is playing in her third Miami semifinal in four years.

Three ATP quarterfinals will be soon decided. The quarterfinal between Novak Djokovic and Sebastian Korda scheduled for Wednesday will now be played Thursday after the match was postponed in accordance with ATP rules that do not allow for a match to go on court after 11pm. Ticket holders on Wednesday night were given the option to purchase tickets for Thursday's match for $10 using a QR code that was displayed in the stadium or through a link they received by email.
ATP Next Gen stars Arthur Fils and Jakub Mensik will face off for a place in the ATP semifinals on Thursday. Mensik, 19-years-old from Czechia and 20-year-old Frenchman Fils will both be aiming to reach their first ever semifinal at an ATP 1000 level event.
Matteo Berrettini has a mountain to climb to overcome a 0-4 head-to-head against Taylor Fritz in the third quarterfinal of the day. Fritz is looking to reach the semifinal in Miami for the first time, his previous best performance came in 2023 when he reached the quarterfinal.

Also, the Miami Open Wheelchair Invitational (MOWI) continues with singles matches at the Miami Open Wheelchair Invitational get under way on Thursday on Grandstand and Butch Bucholz courts.
In addition, the Publix Padel Open (PPC) begins today. Padel makes its debut at the Miami Open with the all-new Publix Padel Cup, in collaboration with RedPADEL taking place from Thursday - Sunday.
