Clays at the Beach: Stage is set for the gold ball

Who will get the coveted gold ball at the USTA Boys' 18 and 16 National Clay Court Championships today? There are plenty of playoffs, consolations, and doubles matches this morning but all eyes will be on the singles final in both age brackets at the Delray Beach Tennis Center.

So who's playing? Gus Grumet (1) (Mill Valley, CA) will be facing off against Andrew Johnson (16) (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA) at 8:30am for the boys 16s singles final. And, later Dylan Long (2) (Carmel, IN) will take on Ronit Karki (3) (East Brunswick, NJ) for the boys 18s singles final.

Above: Yesterday's Player of the Day winners in the 16 and 18 age brackets, Ronit Karki (left), and, Andrew Johnson (right).

Who will prevail? It turns out that Johnson and Karki earned the 'Player of the Day' honors yesterday. That could bring some good luck this morning. We'll see. Our advice: head on over to Atlantic Avenue to check out the matches this morning.

Regardless, let's take a look back at all of the action thus far — scroll below to check out a gallery of photos taken over the course of the tournament this past week.
