Women’s Tennis Stars Set for Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Shenzhen

The 2026 Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Finals will bring a deep field of women’s tennis stars to Shenzhen, China, this September.
Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen, Grand Slam winners Linda Noskova and Elena Rybakina, and Top 20 standouts Karolina Muchova, Jasmine Paolini and Elina Svitolina are among the players set to compete for their nations at the women’s World Cup of Tennis.
The Finals will be held from Sept. 22-27 at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Centre, with eight nations competing for the title.
Host nation China will be led by Zheng, the Paris 2024 Olympic women’s singles gold medalist, as it faces defending world champion Italy in the quarter-finals on Thursday, Sept. 24. Italy, aiming for a third consecutive Billie Jean King Cup title, will once again look to Paolini and veteran Sara Errani, who teamed together to win the women’s doubles gold medal at the Paris Olympics.

Ukraine will try to build on its first Billie Jean King Cup semi-final appearance from 2025, with Svitolina and Marta Kostyuk leading the team against Belgium. The Belgians will counter with a young group led by Hanne Vandewinkel and Jeline Vandromme.
The opening tie on Tuesday, Sept. 22, will feature Czechia against Great Britain. Noskova and Muchova are set to lead a strong Czech team, while Great Britain, led by Katie Boulter, enters after reaching the semi-finals in three of the last four seasons.
Spain will face Kazakhstan on Wednesday, Sept. 23, with Jessica Bouzas Maneiro leading Spain against a Kazakhstani team anchored by world No. 2 Rybakina.
Conchita Martinez, a five-time Billie Jean King Cup champion and the 1994 Wimbledon singles champion, will return as tournament director. Martinez has held the role since the 2023 Finals.

All ties at the Finals will be played as best-of-three matches, with two singles matches followed by a doubles match. Each match will be played as best-of-three tiebreak sets. Nations can make up to four changes to their squads until one day before the event begins.
