Wilson Launches Defyer Tennis Racket Line With Holger Rune, Sebastian Korda, Peyton Stearns and Others

Wilson Sporting Goods has introduced Defyer, a new performance tennis racket franchise designed to deliver explosive spin, power and speed for modern players. 

The new collection is already being used by several Wilson athletes, including Karen Khachanov, Sebastian Korda, Peyton Stearns and Arthur Fery. The launch also brings new names into Wilson’s roster, including Holger Rune, a former World No. 4, and Moise Kouame, who played with the Defyer prototype while becoming the youngest man to reach the third round of a major in more than 20 years. 

Wilson says Defyer was developed to meet the demands of today’s game, where players are stronger, faster and more aggressive from the baseline. The racket line combines motorsport-inspired design principles with Wilson’s latest tennis technology, creating a frame built for advanced players seeking maximum performance.

Wilson Labs, the brand’s innovation hub, began the project last year with the goal of building a racket that could withstand evolving playing conditions on court. After research and development, Wilson presented an initial prototype to players including Khachanov, Korda, Stearns and Fery.

“I felt confident with this racket from the first moment I used it. I took the prototype straight to an upcoming tournament,” says Karen Khachanov. “It was great to be part of the development process, and the final version exceeds all of my expectations.”

The prototype — an all-black racket with a red mark on the side — quickly generated curiosity among players and fans. Wilson later expanded playtesting to collegiate players and additional professionals, including Rune and Kouame, who have now become ambassadors for the brand.

“I was instantly drawn to this racket when I first started playtesting with Wilson,” says Holger Rune. “They have been supportive of my recovery, and I can’t wait to compete with Defyer when I hit the court.”

The Defyer v1 includes several key technologies, including Torq Shaft, designed to generate stability while allowing flex in the hoop for powerful groundstrokes; Airfoil Bumper, an aerodynamic bumper design intended to reduce airflow resistance and improve maneuverability; and Si3D, which Wilson says optimizes lateral bending to help produce heavy spin.

The racket also features a bold “adrenalyn red” colorway, a nod to Wilson’s iconic red logo.

Defyer v1 will be available in four models: 100, 100L, 100UL and 98 Pro. Prices range from $279 to $299. The full collection is available for advanced purchase now, with the 98 Pro scheduled to arrive July 23rd (today) and the 100 model frames beginning August 21.
