Which Florida-based players won a championship at Wimbledon this year?

Mike and Bob Bryan won the Legends Doubles Championship at Wimbledon for the second year in a row, defeating their long-time competitors and friends, James Blake and Lleyton Hewitt, 6-4, 3-6, 10-6.

It turns out that the twins are now residents of Florida. Bob lives in Sunny Isles and Mike resides in Wesley Chapel. The tennis community in Florida should be proud to see the Bryan Brothers go on to win a Wimbledon championship this year.

During this year's Wimbledon, the Bryan Brothers chalked up some other impressive wins including: Tommy Haas (Germany)-Mark Philippoussis (Australia), 6-4, 6-2. Wayne Black (Zimbabwe)-Bruno Soares (Brazil), 6-2, 6-3. Sebastian Grosjean (France)-Radek Stepanek (Czech Republic), 7-5, 6-3.

The Bryan Brothers also won the Australian Open Legends Doubles in January. A few months later, Bob Bryan was in the headlines after being named captain of the US Davis Cup team.

In their 20 years playing at Wimbledon, Mike and Bob Bryan compiled a remarkable 71-17 record, winning 3 titles, while reaching 4 finals, 3 semifinals, and 4 quarterfinals.
