Matt Pressman, Editor and Publisher of Florida Tennis magazine, has an extensive background in tennis, media, and magazines. He acquired the publication in 2023 to expand both its print and digital presence.
A standout junior player, he trained at Saddlebrook Resort's Harry Hopman Tennis Academy and later with Brian Barker, former coach of world No. 4 James Blake. Pressman’s team went on to win the Connecticut State Championship in high school. Earning a Division I scholarship, he captained the University of Connecticut men’s tennis team and received Big East Academic All-Star honors.
Pressman began his career in New York working at magazines including Men’s Fitness and Quincy Jones' VIBE. He later launched the advertising agency Project 2050, and worked with creative director and street art legend Shepard Fairey. Pressman was featured on the cover of Advertising Age and worked with clients that included Nike, Target, EA Sports, and Virgin.
In 2012, Pressman moved to Florida, where he launched another business, EVANNEX, which became the first company to offer aftermarket accessories for electric vehicles. He appeared multiple times on PBS and Fox Business News to discuss Tesla and Elon Musk. EVANNEX was sold in 2021 to Enthusiast Auto Holdings and private equity firm Cortec Group.
Pressman continues to stay connected to the game and has competed in—and won—a handful of select events including the Delray Beach Open Pro-Am and the Miami Open Media Tournament.
In addition to his role at Florida Tennis, he serves as Publisher of Tennisplayer.com, working alongside Editor Joel Drucker.
