Nov 10, 2025
The U.S. teams completed a historic sweep at the Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Junior Finals and Davis Cup Junior Finals in Santiago, Chile, this weekend as both teams defended their titles from a year ago. The U.S. became the first nation to sweep the titles at the world’s premier 16-and-under team competitions in back-to-back years.
The American girls, who secured their fourth consecutive title, defeated France, 2-0, in Sunday’s final with singles victories from Kristina Penickova and Julieta Pareja. Meanwhile, the boys used singles wins from Andrew Johnson and Michael Antonius to dispatch Japan, 2-0.

The U.S. domination of the event saw neither team drop a point across round-robin and knockout round play, while the teams collectively only surrendered three total sets in the entire competition.
The U.S. has now won 10 junior Billie Jean King Cup titles (2008, 2012, 2014, 2017-19, 2022-25) and five junior Davis Cup titles (1999, 2008, 2014, 2024-25). Former U.S. junior international team members include Jim Courier, Andy Roddick, James Blake, Lindsay Davenport, Sloane Stephens and Coco Gauff. Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Iga Swiatek and Carlos Alcaraz also have represented their respective countries in junior international team competition.
