3rd Annual Florida One-On-One Doubles Championships Returns to St. Petersburg

After being televised on Bally Sports Florida last summer, One-On-One Doubles returns to the historic St. Petersburg Tennis Center. On Saturday, November 4th, Coach Ed Krass will host three prize money divisions: An OPEN division, 40 & over age division and a 60 & over age division. The three tournament draws, sanctioned by Universal Tennis (UTR), will feature $1000 guaranteed prize money in each playing division with $700 going to the Winners and $300 to the Finalists. Entry Fee is $50.  

The tournament will take place noon to 4pm.

This edition of the One-On-One Doubles Tour will feature a concert with one of Tampa's premiere blues, funk and jazz bands, The T-Bone Hamilton Band, playing during the tournament's round robin.

Tournament sponsors include The St. Petersburg Tennis Center, the Blind and Shutter Gallery, Dr. Gerald Gallentine, Dr. Michael Coleman, Treehouse Gallery and the Hardwood Specialists of St. Petersburg.

Food, soda, beer and wine will be available for purchase. The event is Free Admission for the public.

Ashley Fisher, 2006 US Open Doubles Semifinalist and Head Coach at USF, will play in and headline the tournament's 40s Division and his USF team members will also compete in the Open Division. "Playing One-On-One Doubles is always the highlight of my year! The events combine a high level of serve-and-volley tennis, high energy and live musical entertainment. The format is fresh and exciting. I think One-On-One Doubles should be played at the upper echelons of professional tennis!", stated Fisher.
