Novak Djokovic Takes Tennis Mindset to Wall Street

Novak Djokovic is taking his experience from the highest levels of tennis into the investment world.

General Atlantic recently announced that the 24-time Grand Slam champion has joined the global investment firm as a Global Strategic Advisor, a role that will put him in direct contact with the company’s leadership, portfolio companies and investors.

Djokovic is expected to bring perspectives shaped by elite sport, entrepreneurship and investing, with an emphasis on leadership, resilience, innovation and long-term performance.

“The principles that drive performance at the highest level of sport are the same ones that build great businesses: discipline, long-term thinking, and the courage to keep improving,” Djokovic said.

General Atlantic Chairman and CEO Bill Ford said Djokovic’s discipline, global perspective and commitment to continuous improvement made him a natural fit for the firm.

The role extends Djokovic’s growing business interests beyond tennis. General Atlantic notes that he has invested in and supported companies across health, wellness and technology, areas that align closely with his long-standing focus on performance and longevity.

As Global Strategic Advisor, Djokovic will work with founders and businesses across General Atlantic’s portfolio as the firm continues investing in high-growth companies across sectors including technology, healthcare, life sciences and consumer businesses.

Djokovic brings one of the most accomplished résumés in tennis history to the position. He has won a record 24 Grand Slam singles titles, spent a record 428 weeks at World No. 1, finished eight seasons as the year-end No. 1 and won 40 ATP Masters 1000 titles. He also captured Olympic singles gold at the Paris Games in 2024.

The appointment reflects a broader trend of elite athletes moving beyond endorsements and into ownership, investing and advisory roles, where the habits developed in professional sports can translate into business strategy.

For Djokovic, the move adds another chapter to a career increasingly extending beyond the baseline — from tennis champion to entrepreneur, investor and now strategic advisor to one of the world’s major growth-investment firms.
