INTENNSE preseason showdown lights up tennis scene in Zephyrhills

The INTENNSE preseason showdown this past weekend included star-studded moments and heart-pounding matches at the new Mouratoglou Academy in Zephyrhills. It served as the ideal stage for a weekend of reimagined tennis. With all three teams — Team Tampa, Team Jacksonville, and Team Atlanta — competing, the atmosphere was electric. Music and commentary were provided all weekend by DJ Mad Linx.

Before any matches were played, fans were treated to a high-energy Friday night celebration featuring a private concert by Redfoo of LMFAO. The party rocker not only lit up the stage but also suited up for Team Tampa. At 49 years old, Redfoo is training to earn his first-ever ATP point, making him both a fan favorite and a source of inspiration throughout the weekend.

Saturday night delivered plenty of excitement as Team Tampa faced off against Team Atlanta in front of an energized hometown crowd. Led by team captain Noori Adam, Tampa jumped out to an early 13 to 1 lead in men’s singles and never looked back. With strong performances in women’s singles and mixed doubles, Team Tampa secured a commanding 238 to 200 victory, setting the tone for the weekend.

Sunday brought family fun and fierce competition, beginning with a special visit from the Easter Bunny and an egg hunt for the youngest INTENNSE fans. On the court, the day featured two high-stakes matches that delivered in every way.

In the morning, Team Jacksonville battled Team Atlanta in a tightly contested match. Although Jacksonville showed flashes of brilliance, a slow start in mixed doubles proved costly. Atlanta maintained their edge and came away with a 236 to 219 win.

Later that afternoon, Team Jacksonville returned to face their preseason rivals, Team Tampa. This marked the third meeting between the two squads, and Jacksonville wasted no time taking control. A dominant performance in mixed doubles gave them an early 83 to 56 lead, which they extended through women’s singles, entering the final stage up 166 to 121. Tampa fought hard in men’s singles, but Jacksonville held firm and closed out the weekend with a 242 to 190 victory.
