Deloitte Teams With Billie Jean King as Women’s Tennis Heads Back to Delray Beach

Deloitte is deepening its investment in women’s sports with one of tennis’ most influential figures — and the timing gives the partnership an immediate South Florida connection.

The professional-services giant has teamed with Billie Jean King on a new initiative designed to strengthen the leadership pipeline, infrastructure and business surrounding women’s sports. King and Deloitte US Chair Lara Abrash announced the collaboration at the Power of Women’s Sports Summit in New York, an event produced by Billie Jean King Enterprises in support of the Billie Jean King Cup.

Deloitte is hardly new to tennis. The company is the Official Professional Services Sponsor of the US Open and works with the USTA on initiatives spanning membership, e-commerce and the US Open brand. It is also a global partner of the Billie Jean King Cup.

That makes the next Florida stop particularly interesting.

The U.S. Billie Jean King Cup Team will face Hungary at the Delray Beach Tennis Center on Nov. 21–22 in a pivotal playoff, bringing the World Cup of women’s tennis back to Palm Beach County.

“My generation’s job is to support those who follow in our footsteps,” King said in announcing the Deloitte collaboration.

The initiative will focus on developing leaders through sports, strengthening the business infrastructure behind women’s sports and connecting organizations across the marketplace. Deloitte said future work will include athlete-to-business leadership programs, coach development and research into female athletes.

Abrash called sport “one of the most powerful leadership accelerators.” Deloitte estimates global revenue in elite women’s sports will reach $3 billion in 2026.

Delray Beach has already played a role in King’s broader mission. When the Billie Jean King Cup visited the city in 2023, King participated in a Champions of Equity leadership event alongside local trailblazer Yvonne Lee Odom, the grandmother of Coco Gauff.

Now the Cup is coming back — with Deloitte increasingly woven into both the tournament and the business of women’s sports surrounding it.
