Coco Gauff makes a fashion statement at the start of the US Open

Coco Gauff hails from Delray Beach, Florida. But it's high time for Gauff to show some New York style. Why? Well, the U.S. Open is finally here. And today will mark the global launch of her bold Coco CG1 City Brights New Balance sneaker.

City Brights represents a new colorway for the Coco CG1. The new look brings the same high-voltage electricity to the tennis court that Coco brings to her game. So this colorway doesn’t skimp on wattage — with a shock of green contrasting warm shades of red and brown.

From the beginning of Coco’s relationship with New Balance, her family has been closely involved in the design process. With a big stage like the U.S. Open, Coco’s mom and aunt suggested City Brights have shades of red and brown to complement Coco's style.

As Coco's first signature model with New Balance, the Coco CG1 is geared towards a fast, power-driven game infused with fashion cues from basketball and 1990s design inspiration. It's another example of what makes Coco turn heads on and off the tennis court.

Earlier this year, Gauff explained, "The Coco CG1 is a vintage looking shoe with a modern twist.” With the new City Brights colorway, she'll certainly be making a fashion statement in New York.

After winning titles in Cincinnati and Washington, D.C. in the past month, we're looking forward to seeing the kid from Delray Beach make a big statement on the tennis court as well.
