Behind the Camera: The Unique Perspective of Ellie Majelly
Oct 17, 2026
If you attended a pro tennis tournament this summer, anywhere from Newport, Rhode Island, to Los Cabos, Mexico, and even the final showdown at the US Open in New York last month, you probably saw one of tennis media's most recognizable faces: Ellie Mujushi, known as Ellie Majelly on social media.

Mujushi brings one of the most unique perspectives to modern-day tennis media. She met her boyfriend, James Watt, at Saint Mary's College of California over five years ago, when they were both student-athletes. Mujushi was a standout of the women's soccer team, while the 6'9'' Watt was a key component of the men's tennis roster. Years later in 2025, Watt was working his way up the doubles rankings, while Mujushi was consulting in financial services. That's when she took the bold leap to trade her desk for a camera, and hopped on a plane to join Watt on tour. Ellie Majelly was born.

Mujushi brings an entertaining personality when documenting professional tennis. She varies her content greatly: some clips are short "day-in-the-life" features on Instagram, whereas others are long-form videos exploring matches in-depth, or discussing complicated topics such as the place of doubles in the sport.
You'll often find Mujushi talking with fans at events—her positive approachability is part of the reason why her content is so successful. It gives viewers a true inside look into professional tennis which only those closely associated with player can provide. But, Mujushi also uses her content as a platform for other purposes. She's using it as a way to highlight what the sport looks like for players who aren't yet at the pinnacle of the rankings, and it's primarily about the doubles tour. In a time when doubles players are facing increased challenges—reduced draws and prize money cuts, to name a few—she's encouraging support for all players, and opening up a window to show that doubles truly is captivating.

Mujushi hopes to expand in the coming years by including WTA players in her content. Already, though, she's adding to a growing number of pioneering perspectives which are making tennis more accessible than ever. If you haven't come across her yet, check out her Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
