5 things to look out for at today's Delray Beach Open

While yesterday turned out to be memorable (personally) at the Delray Beach Open, today is shaping up to be a very special Sunday. Why? Let's take a look at five things that tennis fans should be tracking at today's DBO.

Kokkinakis vs Holt Rematch

Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis is trying to reach his third Delray Beach Open main draw after playing in 2015 and returning in 2022 just after winning the Australian Open doubles title with Nick Kyrgios. Ranked No. 77, he faces alternate Brandon Holt, No. 278, in a first-round qualifying match. Holt already has a 10-4 record this year in Challenger Tour matches, having reached a final in Indian Wells. The only match the two have played previously was a year ago in a much bigger tournament in Indian Wells, the ATP Masters 1000, with Kokkinakis winning. Holt is the son of two-time US Open champion Tracy Austin.

Former Champ Albot Trying for 7th DBO Main Draw

Radu Albot, 34, the 2019 champion here, is one win away from qualifying for his seventh DBO main draw. In that championship run, he defeated Ivo Karlovic, Nick Kyrgios, Steve Johnson, Mackenzie McDonald and Daniel Evans, winning four three-set matches and two third-set tiebreaks including one in the final. Last year, he upset second seed Tommy Paul to reach the semifinals. He faces Terence Atmane in the final round of qualifying.

Michelsen participating in ACEing Autism Clinic

ATP Tour player Alex Michelsen will participate in Sunday's clinic. The national organization allows children with autism to have fun while learning the sport of tennis, as well as improve their motor skills, social skills, and hand-eye coordination. The clinic is on-site from 9:30-10:30. 

DBO Players in Dallas Open Finals

Athough they're not yet at the DBO, all six players in Sunday's Dallas Open singles and doubles finals will head to Delray Beach after the trophy ceremonies. In singles, Tommy Paul plays Marcos Giron in an all-American final. In doubles, Australians Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson face off against countryman Rinky Hijikata and American Will Blumberg.

ATP Champions Tour Matches

Before they retired, Tommy Haas led his head-to-head matches against Sam Querrey 4-2. But the last time they played a tour match was 11 years ago. The final Legends match will feature the brotherly duos of the Bryans vs. the Jensens.
