A little over a year ago, USTA Florida began planning what would be the biggest year of tennis in the state’s history. With big ambitions, USTA Florida set some remarkable goals, and the organization is proud to reveal its latest chapter in the 75th Anniversary.
As USTA Florida commemorates 75 years of Florida Tennis, we are excited to reveal our Special Edition Magazine in collaboration with Florida Tennis Magazine.
We take this moment to celebrate our rich past and exciting future, we are reminded of the incredible journey that has shaped Florida tennis into what it is today and what it promises to become in the years ahead.
This issue is a tribute to the last 75 years of USTA Florida, capturing the pivotal moments, remarkable personalities, and legends of the game that have defined our community. Of course, as we celebrate our 75th year, we take a trip down the Historic Florida Tennis Trail! As one of the most popular states in the country for the sport, there are so many parks, courts, and facilities that have paved the way for our champions and community leaders. While the list continues to grow, you can submit a location to be considered by visiting ustaflorida.com/tennistrail.
We dive into the stories of past champions, groundbreaking initiatives, and the unwavering dedication of countless volunteers who have contributed to the growth and success of tennis across the Sunshine State.
As we look at the current state of Florida tennis, we recognize there is still more work to be done to better the game. Take a gander at USTA Florida’s first-ever State of Florida Tennis report. Learn about the need for coaches and courts, how successful junior and adult tennis is throughout the state, and much more! As we’re sure everyone has heard, tennis is booming, and we want to see this continued growth throughout the next 75 years.
