Quail Creek Country Club Announces Official Grand Opening for Region’s First Padel Facility, Bringing the World’s Fastest-Growing Sport to Naples

Quail Creek Country Club (Quail Creek), a premier private country club in North Naples, is marking the official grand opening of its new, state-of-the-art, three-court padel complex on Thursday, Nov. 5. The first private club in Southwest Florida to introduce padel, Quail Creek is on the forefront of the global social-sport movement, bringing the world’s fastest-growing racquet sport to Naples and the region.

To celebrate this landmark addition and a new era of play, Quail Creek is hosting a courtside celebration for members, friends and guests. Starting at 4:00 p.m. on Nov. 5, the grand opening event will feature a ribbon-cutting, exhibition match with area professionals, a live DJ and themed culinary fare and refreshments. In addition, the Quail Shoppe will hold a special evening sale, and Babolat, a brand for all racquet sports enthusiasts, will be on-site to mark the occasion.

“We couldn’t have accomplished this without the vision and leadership of our director of court sports, Jose Pastrello; he has been a champion of the sport, the project, our club and of Naples,” said Chris Evans, general manager of Quail Creek since 2024. “What makes me most proud is that we’re fostering a thriving community around this kinetic sport. We’re looking forward to showcasing our brand-new padel courts with our members and community, and the team is ready to welcome everyone in true Quail Creek style.”

Featuring glass walls that allow for high-energy viewing and a communal atmosphere, padel is a dynamic racquet sport that encourages strategic gameplay and fast-paced action. An engaging social sport that blends the excitement of tennis with the strategic elements of squash in a doubles format, padel is played in more than 150 countries worldwide and is rapidly gaining popularity across the U.S.

With the debut of Quail Creek’s three-court padel complex, the installation completes Quail Creek’s racquet sports trifecta. Rounding out an already-robust program that includes pickleball and tennis, Quail Creek’s court sport facilities now include nine Har-Tru tennis courts, six pickleball courts, three bocce ball courts and three state-of-the-art padel courts. Quail Creek’s padel complex was designed by Naples-based McWard Architects, and D. Garrett Construction, Inc. was the general contractor. Members and their invited guests now have access to the full suite of court sport amenities and programming at Quail Creek.

Leading the comprehensive padel programming is Quail Creek’s director of court sports, and current president of Racquet Sports Professionals Association (RSPA) Florida Division and Master Professional, Jose Pastrello. As an established leader in racquet sports programming in the Naples community, padel programming at Quail Creek now includes league play, clinics, professional instruction and padel-centered social events and tournaments. Additional plans are in-progress to develop and engage youth in padel play, complementing Quail Creek’s already-robust junior tennis development programming.

“Padel has the energy of pickleball, and the technical aspects of tennis, while still being easy to learn,” explained Pastrello. “I was first inspired to bring padel to Naples through our RSPA meetings; I was hearing how successful it’s been at other clubs, and after a visit with some Quail Creek members to a club in Miami, I knew right away that our member community would embrace the challenge and social quality of padel. I am beyond thrilled to introduce it here; I have so much energy for the sport and what we’re building here at Quail Creek Country Club.”

As pickleball and padel rapidly take over the U.S., padel saw a remarkable 14.5% jump in early 2026 in U.S. participation. The United States Padel Association (USPA) projects the sport will scale to 30,000 courts and over 10 million active players in the U.S. by 2030. Internationally, there are more than 35 million active padel players who play the sport worldwide.
