Padel Hits the Big Screen: New Global Series Set to Showcase Sport’s Meteoric Rise in 2026
Sep 11, 2025
Padel is stepping onto the world stage in a new way. A UK-based production company has announced the launch of Padel Planet, the first global television series dedicated to the sport’s rapid international growth. Slated to debut in 2026 on a major streaming platform, the show promises to chart padel’s transformation from a niche pastime to a worldwide lifestyle phenomenon, in a move some are already comparing to Formula 1’s media breakthrough, Drive to Survive.
Set for release in Q2 2026, Padel Planet will air on a leading video-on-demand platform, with the production team promising a fast-paced, visually compelling six-part series designed to appeal to both padel fans and newcomers alike.
Produced in English and subtitled into multiple languages, the series aims to bring the story of padel to a truly global audience. But it’s not just about the sport. The show dives deep into the lifestyle, travel, and wellness culture that has grown alongside padel’s rapid expansion, offering a lens into how and why the game has captured imaginations around the world.
Filmed across more than 20 countries, the series takes viewers to some of the most unexpected and visually stunning locations where padel has taken root. From rooftop courts in urban metropolises to coastal clubs and high-altitude hideaways, Padel Planet explores the game’s growing global footprint, meeting everyday enthusiasts, A-list celebrities, and some of the entrepreneurs and visionaries shaping its future.
The series is the brainchild of presenter and creator Paul Woodman, best known for his travel and sport documentary work including Amazon Prime Video’s On the Road.
“If there’s one story in sport that’s really caught people’s imagination over the past few years, it’s padel"
Reflecting on the momentum behind the project, Woodman also said:
"It’s fun, it’s fast, and it’s hugely addictive. We’re taking you on a global adventure, full of energy and surprises, showcasing the incredible places and amazing people who make this sport so unique. And the best part: you don’t even have to be a padel fan to love the show.”
Production is already underway, with more announcements expected in the coming months, including details of the streaming platform and full cast line-up. For now, fans and curious newcomers alike can look forward to a series that captures the pulse of a sport on the rise and one that may mark a significant moment in padel’s move into mainstream global consciousness.
