MIAMI OPEN OFFERS MIAMI PUBLIC CHANCE TO PLAY PADEL ON CAMPUS OF ATP AND WTA 1000 TOURNAMENT

The Miami Open presented by Itaú ATP and WTA 1000 in association with Ultra Padel, the largest club in America, and Padel-Lux has announced their showcase of the world’s fastest-growing sport padel at the Hard Rock Stadium, which this fortnight is playing host to the world’s best tennis stars.

Miami Open-bound tennis fans will, over the course of the tournament, have the opportunity to experience Padel during a period that, with all the other racquet focused programming happening in Miami, has been named America’s Racquets Week.

Fans will need a Miami Open ticket which gives them access to all the world-class tennis action, as well as the chance to play padel on the Ultra Park by Padel Lux court.  Fans with tickets to the tennis will be able to experience padel on a court within the Palm Court area on campus as they enter the gates of the stadium from March 16-30 date all day long. The court is available for Miami Open ticketholders to play on, alongside their friends and family, whether you are a newcomer to the sport, or a regular player in Miami’s fast-growing padel scene.  Coaching is available on site to teach first-timers how to play! Join in on the fun to learn from the best coaches from Ultra, and also former World No.1 and multiple World Champion, Hernan Auguste.

Speaking about the event, IMG's Hernan Auguste said, “The Miami Open presented by Itaú is such an exciting event, and we’re ecstatic to bring the sport of padel alongside tennis, given this city’s fast-growing appetite for the world’s fastest-growing sport. Padel is also now considered the fastest growing sport in America, and we couldn’t be happier to bring this court to life at such a big moment for the sport”.

Speaking about the arrival of padel at the Miami Open, Miami Open Tournament Director James Blake said; ”We are thrilled to collaborate with Ultra Padel and Padel-Lux on the padel courts at Miami Open, bringing locals and visitors something exciting and unique that coincides with the biggest tournament of the year right here in Florida.
