Barry’s Bootcamp Executive Chairman Joey Gonzalez Joins No Strings Inc. as Advisor Ahead of 2026 Launch

No Strings Inc., the Miami-based padel club company blending competitive play, social community, and player-centric technology, has added a major name to its Advisory Board: Joey Gonzalez, Executive Chairman — and former longtime CEO — of Barry’s Bootcamp.

Gonzalez is best known for transforming Barry’s from a 10-studio boutique fitness brand into a global powerhouse with more than 80 locations worldwide. Now, he’s bringing that expertise in scaling, branding, and customer experience to No Strings as the company closes its seed round and gears up to open its first location in 2026.

His appointment comes at a pivotal moment for padel in the U.S. Once a niche sport, padel is now surging across Miami, Texas, and Southern California — and is projected to explode nationwide through 2027 and beyond. Many expect the U.S. to become one of the world’s fastest-growing padel markets.

“Living in Miami, I’ve watched padel explode onto the scene — once people try it, they’re hooked,” Gonzalez said. “What draws me to the sport is how it brings people together. No Strings is going to redefine how people experience padel by combining world-class technology with the social and competitive energy that builds real community, and I’m confident my experience in group fitness can help shape that customer experience.”

A key part of No Strings’ vision is its proprietary technology, designed to make padel more social, accessible, and competitive. In October, the company announced an exclusive partnership with social competition platform Lucra to integrate rewards and peer-to-peer challenges directly into the player journey.

“Joey is a visionary in fitness and lifestyle, who built Barry’s into a global brand by obsessing over the member experience,” said Co-Founder Dov Penzik, whose background includes founding and scaling global eatertainment concepts such as Bounce, Ace Bounce, Puttshack, and Flight Club Darts. “His guidance will help us build a connected padel community and bring our concept to life at scale.”
