WTA Announces New Qualifiers for the 2025 WTA Finals Riyadh Presented by PIF

The WTA has announced that Amanda Anisimova, Madison Keys, Coco Gauff, and the doubles team of Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider have qualified for the 2025 WTA Finals Riyadh presented by PIF, joining PIF WTA World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek in the prestigious season-ending tournament.

With $15.5 million in prize money on offer, this year’s field showcases a mix of debutants and returning stars across singles and doubles competition.

Amanda Anisimova and Madison Keys Secure Their Spots

Anisimova and Keys become the fourth and fifth singles players to book their place at the WTA Finals.

Amanda Anisimova will make her debut at the crown jewel event following a career-best season in which she reached four finals. The 24-year-old captured the biggest title of her career at the WTA 1000 Qatar TotalEnergies (Doha) and reached her first Grand Slam finals at both Wimbledon and the US Open.

Anisimova also finished runner-up at the inaugural WTA 500 HSBC Championships (London), bolstering her qualification hopes. With her addition, the USA will have three representatives at the WTA Finals for the first time since 2002, when six Americans qualified (Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Jennifer Capriati, Monica Seles, Lindsay Davenport, and Chanda Rubin).

Madison Keys will make her second career appearance at the WTA Finals and her first in nearly a decade, having previously qualified in 2016. The 30-year-old captured her first Grand Slam singles title this season at the Australian Open, adding to an early-season triumph at the WTA 500 Adelaide International. Keys also notched semifinal runs at both the WTA 1000 BNP Paribas Open (Indian Wells) and the WTA 500 HSBC Championships (London), earning vital points on the PIF Race to the WTA Finals Leaderboard.

Coco Gauff Returns as Defending Champion

Coco Gauff, the reigning WTA Finals champion, will return to Riyadh as defending champion, having lifted her first WTA Finals crown in 2024 — becoming the youngest winner of the tournament in 20 years.

The 21-year-old is set for her fourth consecutive appearance and aims to become the first player since Serena Williams (2012–2014) to defend the WTA Finals title.

Gauff’s 2025 season has been stellar, featuring three singles finals, including a Roland-Garros victory (her second Grand Slam title after the 2023 US Open). She also reached back-to-back WTA 1000 finals in Madrid and Rome, and posted strong results at the United Cup, Australian Open, Cincinnati Open, and Stuttgart’s Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.

Mirra Andreeva & Diana Shnaider Qualify for Doubles

In doubles, Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider have qualified for their first-ever WTA Finals, becoming the fifth pair to secure their spot, joining Katerina Siniakova & Taylor Townsend, Sara Errani & Jasmine Paolini, Gabriela Dabrowski & Erin Routliffe, and Veronika Kudermetova & Elise Mertens.

The young Russian duo has enjoyed a breakthrough year, winning their first doubles titles at the WTA 500 Brisbane International presented by Evie and the WTA 1000 Miami Open presented by Itaú. They also reached semifinals at major WTA 1000 events in Doha and Rome, as well as strong showings at the Australian Open and Roland-Garros.

Andreeva has also impressed in singles, currently sitting at No.7 on the PIF Race to the WTA Finals Leaderboard with more than 4,100 points.
