Who to expect at the first-ever US Open Block Party

The USTA announced that legendary New York City DJ D-Nice will headline the first-ever US Open Block Party on Friday, Aug. 23 as part of US Open Fan Week. 

The US Open Block Party is a new, free nighttime festival-style celebration that will take place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center’s Fountain Plaza and will feature music, player appearances and much more. The dance party begins at 8 p.m. and will kick off with DJ Millie followed by a performance by D-Nice. 

The Block Party is free, but requires a ticket to gain access to the site. Tickets for the free event are available through Ticketmaster and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

“We are excited for fans to experience the US Open Block Party as we continue to expand US Open Fan Week,” said Nicole Kankam, USTA Managing Director, Pro Tennis Marketing and Entertainment. “The US Open has an incredible tradition of bringing music and entertainment to the grounds of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center and D-Nice will surely put on a show that the community will enjoy.”

Celebrated artist, DJ, and photographer, Derrick “D-Nice” Jones, has moved millions on wax, on stage, and in his revolutionary virtual “Club Quarantine”. As our world reopened, D-Nice was back to making records and rocking stages from his sold-out “Club Quarantine Live” at the Hollywood Bowl, to reaching global audiences on the 94th Academy Awards and New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. DJ Millie is an LA-based DJ and model who has headlined in Las Vegas, and has performed at music festivals like Lollapalooza among many others. In addition to her hugely successful career as a DJ, she has worked as a brand ambassador and model, representing a number of prominent brands. In her spare time, DJ Millie hosts a live show titled Millie Monday where she DJ's and has interviewed the likes of Kiana Lede, 6lack, D-Nice, Ne-Yo and more. DJ Millie has always felt a deep connection to music, and she uses that to parlay into many other arenas that she shares with her 179k Instagram followers and the innumerable others who watch her sets.

The US Open Block Party is part of US Open Fan Week, which begins Monday, Aug. 19 and runs through Sunday, Aug. 25, during which the grounds of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center are free and open to the public. Fan Week includes the US Open Qualifying Tournament and numerous other events and activities. The Main Draw will take place beginning on Monday, Aug. 26, concluding with the Women's Singles Final on Saturday, Sept. 7, and the Men's Singles Final on Sunday, Sept. 8.
