The Beautyman Cup is coming to Boca Raton

The Beautyman Cup is a masters tennis version of the Laver Cup and the Ryder Cup.  It pits masters tennis players (age 65, 70, 75, & 80) from the USA against a World team. And this year the tournament will be held in Florida at The Polo Club of Boca Raton.

The inspiration (and vision) behind the tournament is to encourage older adults to stay healthy and active for a lifetime. This annual charitable event demonstrates the value of working on fitness by showcasing the best senior tennis players in the world.  By modeling these older accomplished athletes, the goal is to inspire others to maintain their mental, physical, and emotional health by playing tennis.

Elite masters tennis players slated to play at this year's Beautyman Cup include a number of current (and former) world no. 1 players. At this stage, some of the players listed for this year's tournament include: Danny Carlson, Fred Drilling, Stan Mescon, Jimmy Parker, Bob Litwin, Carl Poske, Curtis Dashiell, Brian A. Cheney and others.

So how does it all work? Each age group, on both teams, will have two players with a possible third as backup.  Both singles and doubles are best-of-three full sets.   Each match is worth one point.  Total matches won and, if necessary, total sets won will determine the winning team.

If the teams are still tied, a doubles set with a 7-point tiebreaker will decide the winning team. There will be two singles matches in each group on days one and three.  The second day is for doubles.  $2000 will go to each member of the winning team; $1000 to each member of the losing team, provided the player paid his entry fee by October 15, 2024.
