Nick Kyrgios joins strong line-up of tennis stars for October’s UTS Hong Kong

Australian tennis superstar and fan favourite Nick Kyrgios will join the all-star line-up for UTS Hong Kong on Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 October at the Kai Tak Arena.

Kyrgios played UTS New York last year and is a huge fan of the innovative, fast-paced and fan-friendly format. He will join his countryman and 2024 UTS Grand Final London champion Alex de Minaur in the eight-man field, along with Top 20 player and UTS favourite Andrey Rublev and rising Chinese star Zhang Zhizhen.

They will compete for a total prizemoney purse of $1.1million USD, with the winner taking home at lease $306,000 USD.

Kyrgios has a strong connection to Asia through his Malaysian mother Norlaila and he is excited to be part of what will be UTS’s debut event on the continent.

“I’m super excited about being part of UTS Hong Kong,” said Kyrgios. “UTS is such a blast to play in. It’s pretty wild for us and for the fans and I love it. I’m also really proud of my Malaysian heritage and I’ve always loved playing in Asia so to be able to play UTS in a great city like Hong Kong is going to be really, really special.”

Tickets for UTS Hong Kong will go on sale soon. Further details about the event and the remaining four players in the line-up will be revealed in a press conference later this summer in Hong Kong.

The growing popularity of the innovative and fast-paced format has seen the UTS Tour increase its worldwide reach in 2025.

The UTS Tour made its debut this year in Latin America in February with UTS Guadalajara. The hugely successful Bastide Medical UTS Nîmes was played in front of sell-out crowds in the iconic Arénes de Nîmes Roman ampitheatre. Since its creation, UTS has attracted many of the world’s best players, including Top 10 stars Holger Rune, Taylor Fritz, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Lorenzo Musetti, Casper Ruud, Frances Tiafoe and Kyrgios, all attracted to the fun, fast, furious and ferocious format.

A UTS Grand Final will take place in December at a location yet to be announced. London has successfully hosted the UTS Grand Final for the last two years.
