M Social Brings Tennis, Wellness and Rooftop Style to Times Square During US Open Week

Tennis is taking over New York this week far beyond the courts in Queens.

M Social Hotel New York Times Square is bringing two ATP players, rooftop workouts, recovery sessions, music and a dose of sustainability to Midtown with M Social Collective: New York Edition, a two-day US Open-week celebration August 26–27.

The action takes place high above Times Square at the hotel’s Beast & Butterflies rooftop, with ATP players Yannick Hanfmann and Hamad Medjedovic joining a lineup built around the increasingly blurred lines between professional sport, wellness and lifestyle.

The opening evening centers on “The New Social Athlete: Where Sport Meets Culture,” a panel featuring Hanfmann and Medjedovic alongside Coffee & Chill co-founders Liz Lindenmeier and Micah Lundstrom and Alvéole’s Kristen Rydberg. M Social resident trainer Keoni Hudoba will moderate.

From there, the programming moves considerably beyond the standard tennis-week cocktail party.

Guests are slated for athlete workouts and agility sessions, Coffee & Chill recovery experiences, cold plunges, DJ sets, social gatherings and food and beverage offerings built around recovery and nutrition.

Day two takes a quieter turn with morning workouts, breakfast with the players, sound-bath meditation and rooftop beekeeping experiences.

Yes, beekeeping.

M Social works with urban beekeeping company Alvéole on rooftop hives designed to support biodiversity, with honey produced on site making its way into cocktails, mocktails and dishes served at the hotel.

“With the New York edition taking place during US Open week, we are continuing to evolve M Social Collective as a lifestyle platform that connects guests, partners and communities through sport, wellness, music and meaningful social engagement,” said Carolyn Wishnowski, Vice President Global, Branding, Marketing & Loyalty.

The New York gathering is the third installment of the global M Social Collective series following previous editions in Penang and Paris.

And during a week when seemingly every corner of Manhattan has discovered tennis, this one has an especially New York backdrop: ATP players, cold plunges and rooftop honey with Times Square glowing below.
