Jamaica Cup Brings Tennis Glamour to Half Moon With Christina McHale and Lauren Davis

Tennis is taking the scenic route to Montego Bay.

From November 11–16, the inaugural Jamaica Cup arrives at Half Moon, bringing former top-30 stars Christina McHale and Lauren Davis to one of the Caribbean's most beautiful luxury resorts for a week of tennis, island hospitality and exclusive player experiences.

McHale, a former world No. 24 and 2012 Olympian, captured her WTA singles title in Tokyo in 2016. Davis, a two-time WTA champion who reached No. 26, announced her retirement from professional tennis last year.

Both have Boca Raton connections. Davis trained at Evert Tennis Academy as a teenager, while McHale previously served as a touring professional at Boca West Country Club.

The action begins Thursday, November 12, with mixed doubles featuring Howard University and Concordia University Texas. College singles follow Friday, with the winners earning a shot against the pros in Saturday's exhibition matches.

Sunday brings the Jamaica Cup Pro-Am, giving guests the opportunity to play alongside professional and collegiate athletes. A VIP Players' Party at Half Moon rounds out the weekend with dining, entertainment and opportunities to mingle with the players.

The setting is hard to beat. Half Moon features 400 acres of lush tropical grounds, two miles of beachfront and tennis courts surrounded by swaying palms. The resort is managed by Salamander Collection, whose Florida properties include PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens and Innisbrook near Tampa.

Originally scheduled for 2025, the Jamaica Cup was postponed after Hurricane Melissa devastated parts of Jamaica. Organizers say the tournament's debut will also emphasize community engagement and support for the island's ongoing recovery.
