Apr 09, 2024
IMG Academy has formed a new strategic partnership with IMG’s Tennis division, building upon both entities decades-long relationship to nurture emerging tennis talent. This is a continuation of the two brands’ work together following the sale of IMG Academy to EQT in May 2023.
Together, the leading sports agency and world leader in sports education have developed young tennis talent and produced some of the sport’s best including World No. 1’s Venus and Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Monica Seles, and Andre Agassi, and household names like Anna Kournikova, Mary Pierce, Kei Nishikori, and Tommy Haas. More recently, the two entities have developed three international tennis players and former World Junior No. 1’s Juncheng Shang, Shintaro Mochizuki, Yibing Wu, and Miomir Kecmanovic.

With this partnership, the Academy will extend opportunities to IMG’s promising tennis student-athletes and be their home for world-class training and development. They will have access to state-of-the-art tennis, training and academic facilities and campus center, providing an environment conducive and proven to skill development and high-performance training. These student-athletes will also engage in immersive training experiences and refine their skills with IMG Academy’s elite coaches, specialists, and professionals.
“This partnership reinforces our commitment to providing unparalleled opportunities for student-athletes and ensures we will continue to shape the future of tennis and inspire a new era of champions,” said Jimmy Arias, Director of Tennis at IMG Academy. “All of us at IMG Academy look forward to extending this longstanding relationship.”
