HotelPlanner Tour at ProWorld, Delray Beach: What Happened in the Second Edition
Dec 02, 2025
The second edition of the HotelPlanner Tennis Tour at ProWorld, held from Saturday, November 29 through Tuesday, December 2, featured a wide field of players, competitive matches, and early indicators of a tour that organizers hope will grow in consistency and scale. Joseph Blakeley of HotelPlanner described the event as part of a project still being developed. “Yeah, it’s been great to start here,” he said. “This is a new event for us. It’s our second event now. We’ve had some amazing level of tennis.”
Blakeley explained that ProWorld Tennis Academy in Delray Beach was selected for both its infrastructure and its leadership. “Great courts, great partnership with ProWorld,” he said. “We really like the vision of ProWorld. Lorenzo, the academy’s director, has been a great person to establish a partnership and a relationship with.” He added that the number of courts and the surrounding area make the academy suitable for a growing tournament structure. “It’s in a great location… only a couple miles from the beach.”

Players ranged from UTR 3 to 13.8, with entries open to men and women. Some of the professionals who train at ProWorld were also present, adding depth to the field. “They have some real top players here,” Blakeley said. “Like Liam Draxel… and Magda Linette on court 4 — she’s a former top-25 WTA player.” Even so, the event maintained an open-entry model. “Anyone can play,” he said. “We recommend at least like a five or six UTR minimum.”
The tournament offers $1,250 in cash and $2,250 in hotel vouchers to the winner, with payouts also reaching semifinalists, quarterfinalists, and the backdraw champion. Blakeley said those travel-related rewards remain valuable for players who are often on the road. “The tennis schedule is so full-on,” he said. “They’re traveling constantly… we know how valuable those hotel vouchers are.”

Organizers plan to expand the calendar and are considering adding doubles. “We want to get to a stage where we’re hosting events possibly every weekend,” Blakeley said.
Following the final, tournament champion Tristan Stringer discussed his experience at the event. “It’s been a really great tournament,” he said. “I love playing here at ProWorld. Courts are great. They kind of suit my game.” He added that the smaller draw was beneficial from a physical standpoint. “I like how it’s a smaller draw, so you don’t have to play too many matches to get deep into the tournament,” he said. “My body just kind of gets really run down if you have to play four or five matches.”

Stringer won the opening set of the final without taking many risks but felt the match shift as it progressed. “The first set I didn’t really do anything too special,” he said. “The second set he definitely raised his level and I just tried not to overplay… just stick to playing solid tennis with big targets.”
Looking to the 2026 season, Stringer said he hopes to improve his position on the ATP rankings to make main-draw entries more accessible. “I definitely want to get my ATP ranking up,” he said. “I would like to be somewhere in the top 700–800… Right now I’m outside the top 1,000, so sometimes it’s tricky to make a deep run when you’re starting in qualies.”
Players interested in future editions of the tournament can find event dates, registration details and sign-up forms on the official website, hotelplannertennistour.com. Organizers will publish the updated schedule there as new events are confirmed.
