Former World No. 5 Kevin Anderson Brings Tennis Experience to INTENNSE Advisory Board
Jul 09, 2026
INTENNSE has named Kevin Anderson — former ATP World No. 5, two-time Grand Slam finalist, and 2019 Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award recipient — to its Advisory Board.
Anderson, winner of seven ATP singles titles, reached the finals of the 2017 US Open and 2018 Wimbledon during a professional career spanning more than two decades, bringing one of the sport’s most respected voices to the league.
As a member of the Advisory Board, Anderson, who was recently inducted into the ITA Men’s Collegiate Tennis Hall of Fame, will work directly with INTENNSE players through weekly in-season performance calls alongside Ryan Wolfingston, the Founder of the Inspiring Children Foundation (ICF), the exclusive league-level charity for INTENNSE.
Together, they will lead conversations about both on-court performance and the mental demands of competing professionally. Anderson’s focus since retiring in 2022 has been player development, mental performance, and building the systems that support the next generation of tennis professionals on and off the court.
“Tennis has historically asked players to be elite athletes first and human beings second,” said Anderson. “The cost of that bargain — to bodies, to families, to identities — has been borne quietly by generations of players, including me. INTENNSE is the first league I’ve encountered that’s designed from the opposite direction: the player as a whole person is the product, not a side effect.”

“What pulled me in is the chance to build, not retrofit. We can integrate coaching, mental health, strength and conditioning, and life-after-tennis into one cohesive program — instead of disconnected systems players have to navigate on their own. We can engage families on purpose, not by accident. We can make reflection part of the work, not a luxury after losses. If we get this right, INTENNSE doesn’t just produce better players. It produces tennis players who, when they’re done playing, are still themselves.”
“Kevin brings credibility, perspective, and a genuine understanding of what players need to succeed at the highest level,” said Charles Allen, CEO of INTENNSE. “He’s been in those moments, and he’s thoughtful about how the sport continues to evolve. As we scale, having his voice in the room will be important — not just for where we’re going, but how we get there.”
Anderson served on the ATP Player Council for ten years, from 2012 to 2022, including four years as Vice President and two years as President — making him among the longest-serving members in the council’s history. Throughout his career he was a leading advocate for player welfare and mental health awareness, speaking openly about his own experiences with anxiety, depression, and OCD. That advocacy earned him the 2019 Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award, recognizing his impact beyond the court.
In addition to his direct work with players, Anderson will contribute to INTENNSE’s long-term strategy, advising on sustainable growth, new market opportunities, and partnership development. He will also support introductions across his network to potential investors, strategic partners, and key figures across the sports industry.
Anderson’s addition to the Advisory Board reflects INTENNSE’s continued focus on building a league that values the athlete as a whole, heading into the 2026 season.
The 2026 INTENNSE season runs from June 5 through Championship Weekend, July 31–August 1.
The league recently welcomed Dave Fish and Fernando Segal to the Advisory Board.
