Florida Tennis September-October 2024 Issue Recap

It's here! Our September-October 2024 issue has arrived. Let's take a look at a few of the stories and topics that we covered in this issue.

In this issue, we take a closer look at the USP College Tennis Showcase. It's an incredible opportunity for junior players to get in front of college coaches. Why? This prestigious event is a game-changer for players and coaches alike to experience two days of high-stake action, WTN Verified matches, and a college coach expo.

Meanwhile, tickets to the Delray Beach Open are now on sale. There will be more drink, more food, and more party! We break down all of the amazing programming surrounding the DBO.

We take a moment to recognize Felipe Echavarria, the Tennis Plaza legacy. As we remember Felipe, we honor not just his accomplishments in the business world, but the humanity and kindness he showed every day.

We also had the opportunity to attend both the Girls and Boys USTA Clay Court National Championships at Veltri Racquet Center and Delray Beach Tennis Center, respectively. Both events showcased the incredible talent and skill of young players from Florida and all across the country.

In addition, USTA Florida reflects on the past two years of growth. From the ATA National Championship, to elevating the game and expanding coaching opportunities for women, USTA Florida continues to make a massive impact on the game of tennis in Florida.

South Florida tennis icon Jay Berger is Director of Athletics at  The Club at Ibis. He also moonlights as coach of Reilly Opelka. Berger provides his unique insight into the comeback of Opelka and what to expect of him as he rejoins the tour this year.

We also got a chance to sit down with Brian Dillman, the CEO of USPTA, who shared some exciting developments coming up in the organization.

Limitless Center of Excellence falls nothing short of the name — we caught up with the team and learned more about their elite player development and training program.

The David Ensignia Tennis Academy also announces a series of two-day junior tennis tournaments starting on December 7th, 2024 in Miami.

We also visit the Cincinnati Open, talk recovery techniques for top players, and discuss Serena Williams with tennis legend Rick Macci.

A big thank you!
