Emirates Invests $500,000 in Miami Tennis with USTA Foundation and Sloane Stephens Foundation

Emirates has teamed with the USTA Foundation and Sloane Stephens Foundation to unveil newly refurbished tennis courts at Buccaneer Park in Miami Gardens, expanding access to tennis and educational opportunities for local youth.      

The airline contributed $500,000 to the project as part of its “Force for Good” initiative, helping support construction of one of the two renovated courts as well as programming for young people in the Miami Gardens community.

According to Emirates, the refurbished courts have already benefited approximately 1,000 students and young people.

“Every child deserves the opportunity to discover what they're capable of, and access to welcoming places to play is where that journey begins,” Sloane Stephens, founder of the Sloane Stephens Foundation, and Sybil Smith, the foundation’s executive director, said in a joint statement.

“These newly renovated courts represent far more than a place to play tennis. They are a place where young people can build confidence, develop life skills, form meaningful connections, and dream bigger.”

The Miami Gardens project is part of a broader partnership between Emirates and the USTA Foundation aimed at bringing tennis and educational opportunities to under-resourced communities across the United States. Emirates has committed to supporting additional projects over the next two years.

The initiative will also connect young players from Miami Gardens with the sport’s biggest stage later this month.

At the 2026 US Open, six young tennis players — two each from Miami Gardens, Kings County Tennis League and East Palo Alto Tennis and Tutoring — are scheduled to participate in a VIP clinic on the court at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Participants are being selected by the USTA Foundation based on academic performance, leadership, community service and tennis ability.

Emirates has served as the Official Airline of the US Open since 2012 and maintains a major presence in professional tennis through sponsorships around the world.

The Miami Gardens project gives that relationship a particularly strong South Florida connection through Stephens, a Grand Slam champion and former World No. 3 whose foundation operates programs in both South Florida and California.

Emirates also has a direct commercial presence in the state, operating from both Miami and Orlando as part of its network of 12 U.S. gateways.

By pairing its global tennis sponsorship platform with a local investment in public courts and youth programming, Emirates is extending its presence in the sport beyond the professional game. For Miami Gardens, that investment now means improved courts, expanded access to tennis and a pathway that will take several local young players from their neighborhood courts all the way to Arthur Ashe Stadium during the 2026 US Open.
