Coco Gauff Is Coming Home to Delray Beach to Lead Team USA Against Hungary in Billie Jean King Cup
Oct 08, 2026
Coco Gauff is coming home.
The Delray Beach native and two-time Grand Slam singles champion will lead the U.S. Billie Jean King Cup Team against Hungary when international team tennis returns to the Delray Beach Tennis Center November 21–22.
Gauff, currently ranked No. 4 in the world, is the first player confirmed for the pivotal Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Playoff. The winner of the best-of-five series will return to the Qualifying pool with an opportunity to compete for the Billie Jean King Cup championship in 2027.
For Gauff, the setting could hardly be more familiar. She grew up in Delray Beach and was part of the American team that defeated Austria at the same venue in 2023, when she and Jessica Pegula helped the U.S. sweep the tie in front of near sell-out crowds.

That victory continued an impressive run for Team USA in Delray Beach. The Americans are 4-0 all-time in Billie Jean King Cup competition at the Delray Beach Tennis Center.
The U.S. team will be captained by International Tennis Hall of Famer Lindsay Davenport, who guided the Americans to the Billie Jean King Cup final in 2025. Both the United States and Hungary can nominate as many as five players, with the complete rosters scheduled to be announced October 21.
Play begins at 1:30 p.m. ET on both Saturday, November 21, and Sunday, November 22.
Saturday will feature two singles matches between the countries’ top two nominated players. Sunday begins with doubles, followed by two additional singles matches if needed. The first country to win three matches takes the tie.
For South Florida tennis fans, Gauff’s addition turns an already significant international event into something much bigger: one of the world’s best players representing the United States in the city where her tennis story began.
Two-day packages and single-day tickets are available through the USTA.
