Coco Gauff is bringing grey to the clay at the French Open

Just ahead of the French Open, New Balance and WTA Ranked #3 Coco Gauff will be unveiling a new colorway for her signature model, the Grey Coco CG1.

The Grey Coco CG1 pays tribute to New Balance’s annual Grey Day celebration, bringing Grey to the clay at the French Open and honoring the brand’s legacy of its heritage color. Launching on May 24th, this special-edition CG1 design features hairy suede accenting and neutral detailing.

The Coco CG1 deviates from a traditional simple, low-cut court silhouette. This shoe from New Balance contains on-court performance features geared towards a fast, power-driven game. From a fashion standpoint, the shoe has style cues that include a basketball vibe and a 1990s throwback design inspiration.

New Balance first introduced Grey in its performance shoes in the 1980s, offering a solution for athletes whose white sneakers couldn’t hold up to city conditions. While the models have evolved over the years with everchanging technology and materials, Grey continues to embody New Balance’s timeless quality and style, in every form.

Throughout May, New Balance athletes like Coco Gauff, Kawhi Leonard and Jamal Murray are wearing Grey on the biggest stages of sport – from the French Open to the NBA Playoffs.

New Balance and Coco will also be hosting “Coco’s Court,” a pop-up experience ahead of the French Open to reveal the Grey Coco CG1 and celebrate the iconic tournament and Parisian culture.
