Chirpr Serves Up Live Match Chat for Every Point

Ever felt that buzz after a blistering backhand winner and wished the whole world heard your gasp? You’re not alone. Tennis is theater, momentum swings, sudden genius, nerves of steel, and the thrills are richer when you trade them with people who “get it.”

“I wanted a place where fans could talk in real time without the junk that clutters social feeds,” says Mia Albert, the 17-year-old founder of Chirpr, a Miami-based social-media app that has its roots in the tennis world. “Tennis deserved its own conversation.”

From Frustration to Innovation

Last year, during the 2024 Australian Open, Mia grabbed her phone, hunting for a second-screen companion. Score apps were fine; the chatter was missing. So she built one. ATR Tennis, her independent media platform, exploded into a must-have pair of iOS apps, complete with live scores, news, and on-site tournament coverage.

“ATR Tennis taught me how fast a passionate community can grow online,” Mia recalls. “But the feature everyone raved about was our beta live chat feature.”

That “beta chat” became the seed for something bigger. Two breakneck months of coding later, Chirpr was born, powered by ATR Tennis’ sturdy core but rebuilt to handle any live event on the planet in sports, music, and television.

How Chirpr Works

Fire up Chirpr during a US Open night match and you’ll drop straight into Alcaraz v. Zverev. The scoreboard updates in real time: who’s serving, point-by-point details, even head-to-head stats. Threaded replies keep the banter organized; quick-emoji reactions let you cheer a break point in a single tap. And because each room centers on just one match, you won’t stumble into spoilers from Ashe or Louis Armstrong.

“We auto-create rooms the moment a match is scheduled,” explains Brian Albert, Mia’s father and Chirpr’s founding CTO. “That same engine spins up chats for every NFL, NBA, MLB, EPL, and NHL game, plus concerts and dozens of live TV broadcasts.”

Built by Fans, for Fans

Chirpr’s tennis DNA shows up everywhere. Type-ahead searches know Djokovic from Djere. Comprehensive stat cards slide into the chat when you tap a player’s name. A one-tap follow button pings you before your favorite players take the court.

Just as important, Chirpr stays quiet when it matters. No algorithm shoves viral videos above your volley discussion. Tight community guidelines keep trolling to a minimum. It’s like sharing a row at Centre Court, minus the sunburn and $12 water bottles.

Beyond the Baseline

While tennis remains its heart, Chirpr is already branching out. NFL Sundays, MLB double-headers, Coldplay encores, late-night talk shows—you name it, there’s a chat room ready to host a conversation for everyone watching. Each stays laser-focused on its own action, so a slam-dunk never interrupts your tie-break.

“Fans crave shared moments, whether it’s a set point or a stadium encore,” Brian says. “We’re giving them a clean stage to react together in real time.”

Mia and Brian are rolling out Android and web versions this fall, adding more sports and venues, and working with tournaments eager to keep fans buzzing before, during, and after match day. Sponsor tie-ins, live polls, even merch drops are on deck, but the mission stays simple: amplify live moments with live voices.

Grab Your Virtual Seat

So the next time a fifth-set breaker has your pulse racing, don’t scream into the void. Download Chirpr on iOS, tap the match you’re watching, and drop a chirp when that forehand kisses the sideline. Your new tennis crew will be waiting, ready to talk every serve, return, and winner. Watching tennis will never be the same.
