Alex Eala Joins Marriott Bonvoy as Tennis Star’s Global Profile Soars

Alex Eala’s growing profile in global tennis has landed her another major partnership, this time with one of the world’s largest travel brands.

Marriott Bonvoy has named the Filipino tennis star the face of its Tennis The World campaign across Asia Pacific excluding China, connecting Eala with the company’s expanding portfolio of tennis experiences and Marriott Bonvoy Moments.

The partnership comes during a breakthrough period for Eala, who has emerged as one of the sport’s most closely watched young players while building an especially passionate following throughout the Philippines and Southeast Asia.

Marriott pointed to Eala’s combination of tennis success, regional connection and growing international fan base as reasons for making her the centerpiece of the campaign.

“Alex embodies so much of what Marriott Bonvoy stands for,” said John Toomey, Chief Commercial Officer for Marriott International in Asia Pacific excluding China. “She is authentic, inspiring, and proudly connected to the region we serve.”

Eala’s connection with the brand also fits naturally with life on the professional tennis tour, where travel is almost inseparable from competition.

“Travel has always been such a meaningful part of my journey as a tennis player,” Eala said. “Every tournament brings the opportunity to experience new places, meet new people and create memories that stay with you long after the match is over.”

The Marriott partnership will extend beyond traditional advertising. Bonvoy members are expected to receive opportunities to get closer to Eala and professional tennis through exclusive experiences, including future chances to meet her in person.

The campaign is also tied to Marriott Bonvoy’s longstanding relationship with the Australian Open. Marriott will return as the tournament’s Official Hotel Partner for a sixth year in 2027, with Bonvoy members receiving early access to Australian Open tickets and additional tennis-related experiences planned around the event.

For Eala, the deal adds another major global brand to a profile that has grown rapidly alongside her results on court.

The 21-year-old made history this season by capturing the Mubadala DC Open, becoming the first Filipino player to win a WTA Tour singles title. She is also the highest-ranked Filipino player in WTA history, milestones that have elevated her into one of the most marketable young personalities in the sport.

Eala trained for years at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Spain before establishing herself on the professional tour, and her breakthrough performances have increasingly placed her alongside the biggest names in women’s tennis.

Marriott Bonvoy’s move reflects a broader trend of major travel, luxury and lifestyle brands investing deeper into tennis, not simply through tournament sponsorships but through individual athletes who can connect the sport with global audiences.

With Eala’s career still accelerating, Marriott is betting that her journey will give tennis fans another reason to follow where she goes next — both on the court and around the world.
