Joao Fonseca, Iva Jovic, Alex Eala, and Learner Tien to Headline 'Stars of the Open' at 2026 US Open

The USTA recently announced that four of the most exciting young stars in tennis — Alex Eala, Joao Fonseca, Iva Jovic and Learner Tien — will headline the marquee lineup for the fan-favorite Stars of the Open presented by Chase exhibition event.

The event will be held Thursday, August 27, at 6 p.m. inside Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Stars of the Open returns for a fourth consecutive year as a signature event of the first week of the US Open, US Open Fan Week. This year’s exhibition will feature a decorated field of young champions and fan favorites competing alongside and against one another in a night of entertaining exhibition matches, with further surprises to come.

All four players have captivated crowds around the world while achieving major milestones despite all being age 21 and younger.

Eala, 21, became a global phenomenon last year with a breakout season that saw her become the highest-ranked Filipino player in WTA history while breaking into the Top 30.

Fonseca, 19, rose to stardom last year while becoming the youngest Brazilian champion on the ATP Tour in the Open Era.

Jovic, 18, is the youngest player ranked in the WTA Top 20 after a lightning-fast rise that has seen her already become the fourth-ranked American woman, behind Jessica Pegula, Coco Gauff and Amanda Ansimova.

Tien, 20, is ranked a career-high No. 18 and has already built a collection of “youngest-since” achievements on tour, including becoming the youngest man to defeat a Top-5 player, Medvedev, at the Australian Open in ATP Rankings history in 2025.

Tickets are available starting at $30 via USOpen.org and Ticketmaster, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the USTA Foundation, the national charitable arm of the USTA.

The Foundation supports the National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) network, a nationwide group of more than 270 organizations that use tennis to help young people from under-resourced communities succeed in life. Through tennis, academic support, and mentorship programs, the Foundation’s NJTL network provides over 233,000 young people with opportunities to grow into well-rounded adults.

Stars of the Open presented by Chase will be featured on ESPN+ in the U.S. and distributed by US Open international broadcasters, with channels to be announced.
